Spam IDentifier

Try the new Spam Reporter. Paste your email headers only into the Spam Reporter text area, press the 'Prepare email' button, and then click the 'Send Mail' link to send a completely prepared email from your mail client.

Have you ever wondered who is responsible for an IP address, a domain, or a machine? When you get spam, have you ever wanted to find out who is responsible for the IP addresses in the message headers so you can forward them the spam, but you did not know whether to go to ARIN, APNIC, RIPE, or whatever? Then try Spam IDentifier. You just enter the IP address or the domain or machine name, and it can call the appropriate registry and return you the information; it can attempt to just return you the email addresses of the responsible parties; or it can call a Whois registry and return you the owner of the entered domain name or the domain name of the entered IP address or machine name. You can also see what a web browser sees when it first hits an IP address, a domain, a machine, or a web page. It's as easy as that. Maybe we can't stop spammers, but finding out who is hosting them and relaying for them just became much easier.

As of Sep. 26. 2002, Xwhois.com (opens a new browser window) is used to see who owns domains. It provides support for most international domains in addition to the ones supported by Verisign.

As of Sep. 26. 2002, all of the blocks in our database that were previously completely assigned to Global Crossing have been updated. All other blocks of which 'abuse@gblx.net' is a responsible abuse address have also been checked out. Thank you for using SpamID.net.

As of Aug. 27, 2002, you can view some of the innards of spamid.net with the IP Block Viewer. You have to register to use it or log in to use it if you are already registered. It allows you to enter characters at the beginning of an IP address and see all of the blocks where the first block begins with an IP address that starts with those characters. Thank you very, very much to those of you that registered although there has not been much to offer, and please email me if you find any inaccuracies or have any questions.

As of Jul. 31, 2002, the database has been updated to accomodate LACNIC for IPs 200.000.000.000 to 200.127.000.000.

As of May 10, 2002, refinements have been made in the IP address space to registry mappings and reserved blocks have been added.

As of Apr. 18, 2002, the database has been updated to go to TWNIC when appropriate.
